And it wasn’t in our plans!
Even before we conceived Mark and I were on the same page.
We were not going to co-sleep.
In fact, our baby shower registry had a Arm’s Reach bassinet (see here).
We definitely weren’t going to do it!
Was not going to happen
But as we were reaching the one month mark with exhaustion because Noah wouldn’t sleep even for an hour at times, it was mentioned to us, “Maybe he wants to sleep with you guys. That’s what happened with us.”
Not what we wanted to hear
But that night Mark and I discussed it.
We were anxious too. Especially when you read all those horror stories, but we were tired!
So so tired…
So we did it.
That night he slept with us.
That night was the first time we were able to sleep for three hours straight!
And boy did it felt good.
I laugh now looking back. We had a plan. We knew what we wanted to do.
Yet Noah is slowly teaching us that babies care less about plans. It’s all about doing what makes him (and us) happy.
And so far this is working.
Our goal is to make him sleep in his own room when his 6 months.
I hope that goal is accomplish.
Have any of you gone through the same? How did you managed? Do you co-sleep?
